Duet is ready for her close-up with cuteness to spare! She has been learning all about how to be a silly puppy from her
brother, Solo, and how to be a princess from her mama, Dena. The combination is a lot of fun!
A face anyone would love! |

Duet's little nose is getting more and more pigment, which is a good thing. Tonight, it is also decorated with a bit
of peanut butter. Trying to stack a four-week-old puppy requires special assistance sometimes!

Just give me the food, already! |

Duet's color/markings are still somewhat of a mystery to us. We think she's red and white, but there are dark edges to
her spots in places, and on the ends of her ears. Is she a very sparsely-marked brindle? Time will tell. Besides her large
patches of color, she is also getting some speckles here and there - cute!
Duet thought the peanut butter was a great idea, but I decided letting her lick a little piece of a hot dog was much
easier on my fingers. Her tiny teeth are sharp!
Sorry her tail is blurry in these photos - it never stopped wagging. Duet is a happy little girl!

At the ripe old age of four and a half weeks, Duet visited her first race meet and lure trial, during the Labor Day weekend
Bruiser event at Rosewood Farm near Dorsey, Illinois. She loved meeting new friends, and all of the excitement.

Let me out, I wanna chase the bunny! |
In between or even during meals, Duet finds plenty of time to play. It's so much fun to watch her pounce on and shake
a toy - such a fierce girl! She loves playing with her mama, brother, cousin Mazie, and Sal, too. Starman and Hugo are still
wary of "Dena's baby", like they were with Solo at this age, but they're always interested in sniffing her when Dena isn't
around.

it's a puppy's life! |

Big dog food is now on the menu for little Duet, and she thinks it's a fine idea, even if it interrupts important
work, such as her attempt to pull the white blanket down from the chair.

Now five whole weeks old, Duet is getting to spend more and more time outside of her puppy pen, being interated into
the rest of the household. One lesson to learn is not to bite Uncle Smooch's tail, no matter how tempting it is. At this point,
it's easy to distract her with a squeaky toy. :-)
Oh! What's this? |
